Tailgating

According to the book'' The American Spiritual Culture'', tailgate is a party that pumps up people before the game starts. In the morning previous to the game, people who are going to watch the game go to bars and restaurants to get themselves some drinks. (Dean). Most of the audiences are ready to focus only on their games after tailgating. The whole point of tailgate parties is to make the game more fun. After the game, no matter who wins or loses, people will still go to parties to have fun. Football games are sometimes the motivation for people to go merely have fun. Being said that, tailgate makes more opportunities for people to have fun and socialize with new people.

Some families have BBQ at their places a couple of hours before the games. They invite their friends and relatives to come over. It is a welcoming party that makes people closer. The bonds between families and friends become tighter since they drink and watch games together. It is a good chance to meet more people and stay good relationship with your friends. After the games, they might have BBQ again or other events to celebrate their victory and get drunk again. This culture truly makes the families and friends to be closer together.

Football is also a great business. It brings great profits to the economy of the area by its football-related products and commercial. When holding a tailgate party, people have to buy food, beers, tools and sometimes, chairs, tables or even TVs. This event benefits the companies who sell those products.

Besides, when watching the games, people love to wear their team uniforms and accessories. That makes even more money. However, the Super Bowl is the most popular game that brings the most profit to the economiy.
